With all the art I’ve drawn, the two dress-up games I made (Whinnifred’s Out-NEIGH-geous Outfits and Whinnifred Gallops to the Gala) you’re probably wondering: Who is that horse lady? How did you come up with her? What’s her story? So I figured it’s time to give you a proper introduction to Whinnifred!

Her story begins with a different gorgeous horse lady: Miss Giddee Yup of the short-lived 1979 doll line ‘Gorgeous Creatures’
(seen here wearing a dress I handsewn for her!)

Since we loved the oddity of this doll line, my friends and I made our own Gorgeous Creatures inspired characters! Miss Tabbytha designed by Emma Kate Ramsey, Miss Savannah Sparkle designed by Lochlan O’Neil and Lady Whinnifred designed by me!

I absolutely ADORED her right from the second I designed her! So I continued draw and develop her even more. Eventually I shortened her name to just Whinnifred or Whinni!

My experiences as an autistic woman really shaped how I approached creating Whinnifred. She is an amalgamation of a bunch of my special interests (namely, horses, 80s fashion and dolls!) I also gave her bits and pieces of my own personality. So, just like me, Whinnifred is autistic!

Whinnifred is a party planner from the 80s! She’s often cheerful and eccentric, though gets stressed easily. Especially if her parties aren’t going according to plan!
Her hobbies include fashion, rollerskating and painting.
So, that’s my Whinni! I hope you love her just as much as I do, there’s more of her to come 💖
